The Tao Centre Philosophy
Body and
mind are interrelated, and everything we absorb externally
on all levels responds and reacts with us internally.
The air we
breathe, the food we eat, the fluids we drink, the
discussions we have with friends, families and associates,
the environments we live in, all have to be assimilated,
digested, absorbed or dispensed with for optimum health.
The positive
needs to be absorbed fully, the negative discarded
completely. In the western world many of us live in places
where the air is polluted. Many of us eat unhealthy diets
for a variety of understandable reasons.
Many of us
take little exercise because we can’t seem to fit it into
our busy lives. When our lifestyles over tax our resources,
the bodies energies become under nourished and toxic waste
from unnecessary foods clogs up our systems, making the
good nourishment impossible to function (correct amino
acids, minerals, vitamins, chi etc).
Thoughts
whether happy or sad affect our whole body. A thought
stimulates an emotion, and emotion triggers a reaction that
affects organs, muscles, and nerves. Thoughts can even
block the flow of life energy (Chi). We are what we eat,
and making conscious choices about how to spring-clean our
bodies and minds is the first step to great health. |
